September 2021- our meat delivery service is fully operational with many new changes to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. We have implemented these changes to help ensure the safety of our amazing community and staff.
While the risk of contracting a coronavirus through food has historically been, and is, extremely low - we have further increased our already stringent hygiene standards to include hourly sanitization and hand washing at thirty minute intervals during each part of the preparation and packaging process.
To further help prevent viral transmission, we will be suspending the practice of hand to hand delivery until further notice. Each contactless delivery will be placed on your doorstep and you will receive a notification of your deliveries arrival via text message only. Even with this practice in place, our delivery drivers will sanitize their hands before and after each and every delivery.
Food and Package Safety. The Food and Drug Administration has reported there is no evidence of food or food packaging being associated with the transmission of COVID-19. We advise our members to continue to follow good hygiene practices (i.e., wash hands and surfaces often, separate raw meat from other foods, cook to the right temperature, and refrigerate foods promptly) when handling or preparing foods.
The World Health Organization and other government agencies have stated that the likelihood of the COVID-19 virus contaminating cloth and shipping packages is low. If you have a concern, we recommend disinfecting the outside of your packaging before unpacking.
